Corporate social responsibility has become one of the most powerful ways to affect change today. More and more non-profits and charities have started relying on corporate donors to fuel their causes, and many companies have even created their own charitable programs.
When we were brainstorming ideas for our corporate social responsibility program here at TuGo, we decided we wanted to support causes our employees cared most about. The result? Our Employee Volunteer Program.
Since its inception in 2012, we’ve donated over $30,000 to a plethora of causes— social welfare, natural disaster relief and the environment, are just a handful of causes the Employee Volunteer Program has given us the opportunity to support.

Iain MacAulay, our HR Director, organized a TuGo Movember group and was able to raise $1,520 for men’s health this year! The company donated $250 and helped Iain spread the word. Here are our men of Movember, posing proudly with their mos.
Ayda Bazzaz-Rastegar, our Claims Administration Clerk, constantly gets compliments on her make-up. She decided to host a holiday make-up tutorial for the ladies of TU, with donations benefiting The Dugout, a drop-in centre for the homeless in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Here are some of the ladies enjoying the session!
We were 31-strong when we decided to conquer Tough Mudder this past summer in order to raise money for Make-A-Wish®Canada. Through the Employee Volunteer Program, TU pitched in over $7,000! Check out why we did Tough Mudder and why we’d do it again.
