Would you rather endure a couple rounds of travel vaccinations or a bout of Hepatitis? If you’re anything like me, you put off those pesky shots, rushing into the clinic with your teeth clenched at the very last minute.

 

Educate yourself about your destination’s travel vaccination requirements

But the sooner you educate yourself about your destination’s travel vaccination requirements, the better. Where some vaccinations are suggestions, others are mandatory to enter a country.
The Government of Canada recommends contacting your doctor, nurse or health care provider, or visiting a travel health clinic six weeks before you travel.

It’s a good idea to do some research

In my experience, before you start talking shots, it’s a good idea to do some research. This way, you can ask informed questions and make sure you’re really getting just what you need. The last time I went for vaccinations, I narrowly avoided being given the wrong ones!
