If you’re planning on travelling to one of Canada’s pristine national parks this year, prepare to stay connected (to the Internet, that is). Parks Canada has decided to provide Wi-Fi to 25-50 key national parks by year-end, which will grow to 100 spots in the next couple years.
Presently, 3G and 4G cellphone coverage is weak or nonexistent in many of our national parks.
How Much Will the Wi-Fi Cost?
Wi-Fi will be free of charge in most parks. However, Parks Canada may charge a fee in areas where it would be particularly expensive or unexpected.
