In our 60th year of business, we were proud to continue our tradition of giving back to the community through our partnership with Westcoast Family Centres. Our commitment to social responsibility has never been stronger, and this year, we set an ambitious goal: to support 60 families in need.
About Westcoast Family Centres
Westcoast Family Centres Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of children, youth, and families. With over 40 years of experience, they offer a range of evidence-based, child-centered, and family-focused programs and services. Their work includes parenting education, support for vulnerable families, and resources for early childcare educators. Westcoast Family Centres is known for its culturally competent and outcome-oriented approach, ensuring that every family they serve has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
A Unique Approach to Giving
With most of our employees now working remotely across the country, we’ve had to adapt our approach to our hamper drives in the last few years. We put out a call to our employees, inviting them to donate gifts toward the hampers or form teams to help assemble the hampers. The overall response was overwhelming!
How We Made It Happen
Our initiative was driven by the dedication and enthusiasm of our employees. Here’s how we came together to make a difference:
- Donations and Contributions: Employees had the option to contribute money or gifts towards the hampers. Every donation, no matter the size, made a significant impact.
- Team Efforts: Many employees formed teams with their colleagues, family, and friends to put together hampers. The cost of each hamper ranged from $150 to $300, depending on the size of the family being supported.
- Shopping and Wrapping: Volunteers stepped up to shop for gifts and wrap the hampers. This hands-on involvement added a personal touch to each hamper, ensuring that every family felt the care and thoughtfulness behind each gift.
Making a Difference Together
Thanks to the collective efforts of our employees, we successfully supported 60 families this year. This achievement is a testament to the power of teamwork and the impact we can make when we come together for a common cause.
As we reflect on our 60 years of service, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and supporting those in need. Our partnership with Westcoast Family Centres is just one example of how we strive to make a positive difference in our community.
