Changes to BC and Manitoba Healthcare for Out-of-province Travel

As of Wednesday, July 17, BC and Manitoba residents can buy travel medical insurance policies for up to 7 months (previously 6 months). The BC and Manitoba governments have changed the maximum period of time that residents can maintain their provincial healthcare coverage while vacationing out-of-province.
If you’re a BC or Manitoba resident, this change offers you more flexibility in your travels! All you have to do is contact BC MSP or Manitoba Health for approval, if you plan to travel for more than 6 months.

    1. Hi Penny,
This information was verified with Manitoba Health, although their website hasn’t yet been updated to reflect the change. Hope that helps. Cheers!
