Travelling through Europe in the next week? Brace yourself for delays, as a six-day air traffic control strike begins in France on Tuesday, June 24 and ends June 29.
Even if your flight isn’t flying through France, the strike might have a domino effect on European carriers and could affect your route. Eurocontrol, an air safety organization, has estimated the delays will total almost 14,000 hours.
If you’re delayed or bumped from a flight, keep these air passenger rights handy so that you’re prepared. Check with your travel insurance provider to see if strikes are covered in your policy. Certain air carriers may also provide compensation, so check your airline’s guidelines.
