Travel Insurance Coverage for the Ukraine/Russia Dispute

You’re probably glued to your television screen, nervously watching developments unfold in the Ukraine/Russia dispute. If you or your loved ones are planning a trip to the Ukraine in the near future, it’s very important to note that the Canadian government is currently advising against all travel to Crimea, and against all non-essential travel to Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Luhansk Oblasts.

If you have TuGo’s trip cancellation or trip interruption coverage, take a look at our travel advisory here to see your coverage details. Some good points to take note of:
1) You may qualify for benefits when a formal travel warning or advisory (such as the advisories above) is issued by the Canadian Government.
2) This advisory must be in place between the time you purchased insurance and the time you’re scheduled to depart on your trip.
3) The advisory must still be in place at the time of scheduled departure.
