Effective immediately, the Government of Canada will stop issuing visas to people who have been in an ebola-affected country. This ebola travel advisory applies to all those who have lived, travelled or even transited through an ebola-stricken country within 3 months prior to the date their visa application is received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
This visa ban does not affect Canadians in West Africa; Canadian health workers who have been in ebola-affected countries will be permitted back into Canada, and Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Chris Alexander, can make decisions on entry on a case-by-case basis.
