With summer officially upon us, it’s a time for soaking up the sunshine, enjoying some time off, and creating lasting memories with friends and family. Looking to take the kids on vacation while they’re out of school? Maybe you’re itching to take a grad trip with your roommates to celebrate the stellar few years you’ve had. Or you might just want a relaxing getaway while the weather’s nice. Whatever trip you’re seeking, take it from your fellow Canucks! Mexico
Mexico was the most visited overseas country by Canadians in the last quarter of 2025, and for good reason! With an unmatched culinary scene, beautiful beaches, and a rich history, this destination is hard to beat. From the hustle and bustle of Mexico City, to the architectural marvels of Puebla and Oaxaca, and the sandy beaches of Sayulita, there’s truly something for any summer traveller.
France
Is Euro summer calling your name? If the answer is yes, then you might want to book a trip to France. Think about it—a vacation full of delicious, flaky pastries, moody music, and some of the best shopping you’ll ever do—what’s not to love?! Speaking of love, this would definitely be a spectacular choice if you’ve got a special someone in your life. Head to Lyon for seemingly endless cultural wonders, take a cruise through the Burgundy region for an unforgettable experience on the water, or head to the fashion capital of the world, Paris! There’s no going wrong.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a classic sunny getaway for Canadian travellers. Less than 5 hours away from Toronto, this destination will have you grabbing your beach towels for a time of relaxation and fun. Punta Cana is the go-to for a soothing resort vacation. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in some history, make your way to Santo Domingo, the country’s capital and one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean. Or go to Samaná, a town with lush flora and fauna to get grounded in nature.
Prince Edward Island
Want to stay local this summer? Head east for a remarkable visit brimming with coastal charm, breathtaking ocean views, and mouthwatering seafood. A great option for family getaways, Prince Edward Island was the most visited Atlantic province by out-of-province travellers in all of 2024, according to Statistics Canada. You may want a rental car for this one, because PEI is a fantastic spot for that windows-down, music-up road trip that you’ve been dreaming about.
